I love to hike.
I particularly like to hike up mountains.
But sometimes it doesn’t go so well.
Today I’m sharing two stories with you, both about climbing mountains.
Story #1 is called “How to Climb a Mountain,” and it’s a nonfiction piece about my first real hike up a real mountain, Mt. Cammerer in the Smokies.
My knees still hurt thinking about it.
Story #2 is called, “How to NOT Climb a Mountain,” and it’s a fictionalized retelling of my one and only attempt at climbing in Colorado. Here’s some free advise: If you live at low elevation, don’t climb in Colorado. Not without several days of acclimatization, anyway.
I hope you enjoy these stories during this lovely quarantine of ours. Be sure to share with your hiking and outdoors-loving friends!
